How ridiculous was that? We are bailing out companies that made in the billions of dollars for multiple years in a row and they can’t seem to save their money. It just shows that how bad our economy has got when multi-billion dollar companies are asking for money so that they pad their pocket books and there CEO’s could keep their multiple homes, multiple cars, personal jets, chauffeur’s and lavish lifestyle all the while making more in a bonus then what many may make in there whole lifetime. I am completely calling BULLSHIT on this. This could be by far the stupidest thing we could have done. We even bailed out banks.

Here is the question I propose to you…..if you were given a lofty sum of money, what would you do with it? Spend it right…..cars, houses, trips, lavish items for yourself, family or friends. On the other hand you would save it…..stock, bonds, IRA, 401K. So no matter how you see it, they money would have gone to the banks and car manufactures out there to help them with their crisis; as well as the banks because no matter what everything ends up there. So why bail them out and leave the American people high and dry, if we would have just given the American public all the money that was given to the auto industry and banking industry, everyone for the most part would be out of debt, probably in a new car and more than likely have some in reserve for a rainy day in their choice of bank. Everyone wins! No the society is still in the shitter, but at least we bailed out the banks and helped the car industry. How did that help out anyone except the people who have money for days as it is.

Now that the auto companies have their money back, they are doing something about it at least. They are making cars with better fuel economy, electric cars, ethanol cars; cars to help out our environment and also with our pocketbook with rebate offers, maintenance plans that help you out basically throughout the life of the car that you plan to have. This all helps us out with buying new cars and that they are getting cheaper and cheaper.

Does a cheaper car make it just cheap or just unsafe. Depends on who you talk to. Are companies making cars cheaper to appease the American public and try and get people to buy cars, or are they saving and just cushioning their pocketbooks more? Only a couple people will know for sure. But for now we will still buy the cheaper cars because they are cheaper and we can afford them easier until the economy picks up and we are able to afford the more high priced cars on the market.

I am not talking about your 4×4 that you can buy at your local dealer either. I am talking your 700+ horsepower racing truck that can look at 1000 miles in the tough Baja California desert walk away. These trucks (Ford, Chevy, Toyota, Dodge) can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and have a crew of a dozen following the truck for any major repairs or a tire change down the road. These trucks boast 430ci engines, 21 in. of front wheel travel and 24 in. in the back, full aluminum frames with the only way looking like a truck you would buy at a dealership being a fiberglass shell that somewhat resembles the body of what used to be your standard truck you would see rolling past you on the road.

These trucks are listed as the fastest off road vehicles in the world reaching 135 mph over rough terrain. That helps when you have nearly 2 feet of travel in both the front and rear of the vehicle. Although surprisingly enough most of the trucks are two wheel drive. If you so choose to go to a race though, be careful. Some of the spectators often stand right on the edge of the race track as there are no barriers blocking the racing and onlookers. Spectators have lost their lives from standing too close and a truck going 100+ mph hits a rut or goes over a jump wrong, loses control and crashes into the crowd.

Many legends have been idolized growing up by some of the biggest names in auto racing today. Some of the greats started out in off road racing and went on to race road courses and on the Nascar circuit. The likes of Jimmie Johnson, Robby Gordon, Jeff Gordon and more all started out racing on some kind of dirt.

I have looked at many top 10 charts on favorite car songs of all times and here is what I have from 1-10:

How times have evolved from the days of just the radio to the 8 track, to cassette tapes to CD’s to now adapters for your ipod to play in your car.

Now this is just one list that I have found for car lovers and there songs about cars. Many people will not agree with this list. Maybe I don’t even agree with it either. I just saw a popular list and went with it. Everyone has their own version of what should be on the list and in what order. That is all based on the consumer. What we listen to, who we do and what we enjoy. No one is ever alike so that is what makes songs soo good is the different personalities that are brought to the table and the artist that talk about their car or favorite car. Each artist can put their own spin on the song and make it their own way, just like they would customizing their own car to suit their personality.

Peoples love addiction to their cars has gone on for centuries and the best way to show how much you do is by broadcasting it. Some can’t sing about it so they show it, in shows or just cruising down the road. Others show off their skills behind the mike in a studio so that the whole world can hear what they have to say about their favorite ride.

CADILLAC XLR 2005

I am looking at buying a 2005 Cadillac XLR. I love the fact that it’s a hard top, but convertible. The style is sleek and non-comparable to any other maker. Aren’t all Cadillac’s? Premium American Made. I have yet to find any faults in this model. Through extensive research, I cannot find one recall. I have only found one complaint about the top not latching properly, resulting in “closing” procedure as they hit a bump in the road. This seems like a very good choice if you’re looking for a car with balls, style and comfort. I love that the seats can heat and/or cool. I have never seen one that cools, until looking at this car. The engine is a half and half model. The top half is a Corvette Engine and the bottom is traditional Cadillac. They wanted to use the whole engine of a Corvette, but enthusiasts protested this stating it’s taking away the “Cadillac” name. No one wants a Cadillac with another makers Engine. Good for them! In the recent years, the V is all the rave within the Cadillac world and I say “Whoo ha!” to that. I love the V’s, but this XLR will be an ultimate classic someday. Limited numbers were made per year, making this a soon to be exotic. The last production year was 2009, when replaced with the new CTS V coupe. To complete this car with my personality, I would have to change the grille, bumper, exhaust and most of all, I will need to put some black custom wheels on it.
